Reflecting Identity Through Web Design

Brand identity, be it in print or web, is extremely important.
The most important element of a website when clarifying an identity is that brand's logo.
If in fact it is a company, having that logo front and center,
Very clear and consistent with that offline brand experience is probably the most important aspect of it.
Here at Marriner Marketing Communications, our role, the department's role,
Is to design and develop web solutions for food and hospitality clients.
That does include designing websites, mobile sites, tablet sites, web apps and online banner ads as well.
When it comes to developing a website, I would start with the research behind it,
You know, taking to a pen or pencil or your notepad and jotting down a few notes about
what comprises the identity that you're developing this website for.
Three to five bullet points outlining what makes you, you, and using that as a starting point.
From that, I would encourage them to start developing, on paper first, what that identity may look and feel like.
When selecting or considering imagery for any website, you know, a few attributes that I want you to keep in mind, one,
The first being that it's clear, the imagery, the photography or art work is very clear,
And second that it conveys or it tells the story of what you're attempting to say.
When it comes to emotional appeal, or the aesthetic appeal of a website,
We tend to follow the most common trends in web design today.
Some of today's trends include very open white design.
The user behavior when reading a website tend to be very different than reading a print publication
Because they tend to spend less time actually reading and spend more time browsing a website looking for key elements and takeaways
Versus reading a story in its entirety. So having concise content, bulletized content is a very good strategy for website writing.
